Hi,
I'm working on upgrading Exchange from 5.5 to 2003.
5.5 currently resides on a 2000 Server SP4 that is also the DC.
I'm working on installing Exchange 2003 on a
2003 Enterprise edition member server.
When I get to Coexistance with Exchange 5.5
Phase 1, Step 3 and run the DSScopeScan now, I get the following error:
#*** Exdeploy began: 04/24/2006 12:15:23 ***#
+ Exchange 5.5 Server: XXXXNT1
+ Global Catalog Server: XXXXNT1
+ Tools run: DSScopeScan, and OrgNameCheck.

+ Planning Your Deployment (DSScopeScan)
- Existing Org Report (OrgReport)
OrgReport checks Active Directory for an existing organization.
Test completed successfully. An organization was created by ForestPrep.
You can rename this organization when you install the first Exchange 2003
server.
- Global Catalog Server Version Check (GCVerCheck)
GCVerCheck verifies the availability of a global catalog server or domain
controller running SP3 or later in the current or adjacent site. Details are
logged in gcvercheck.log.
GCVerCheck completed successfully. All domain controllers and global
catalog servers in the current and adjacent Windows sites are running Windows
2000 SP3 or later.

What I'm putting in the text boxes before I run this could be the issue.
I try putting in the XXXX which is what I use to identify the domain when I
login to 5.5 in Outlook. I also try putting in the actual server name
XXXXNT1 that 5.5 resides on. I get the same results with either.
XXXXNT1 is the global catalogue server.
Do I need to specify a port? If so how do I find what port 5.5 currently is
using? I've tried to find that but no luck.
I know this is a long post but will really appreciate your input!
Thank you!
