I have approx 500 users on an Exch 2003 server. Mailbox store is getting
huge. I would like to add a second Exch server at the same site and
distribute the mailboxes. Ideal config would be 1 administrative group, two
servers with two mailbox stores each. I have OWA running on the first server.
What would be the correct procedure to add the second server, ensure public
folders are available to all users, ensure delivery of SMTP (external
Internet mail) to the correct server, ensure delivery between users on each
server, ensure OWA functions and ensure that Outlook 2000 clients find the
correct mailbox store when logging on? What would be necessary to move the
new server to another site (subnet) that has a high speed WAN link? Thanks
in advance. I have no formal Exch training and management is pushing hard.
