We are about to deploy our new Exchange Server 2003, but we are
currently having problems with inbound emails. We can send email
internally and externally with no problems. Here is our setup right
now:
1. Windows Server 2003 running the FIRST Domain Controller with the
Active Directory Integrated DNS. It is also our DHCP and WINS servers.
It has a private IP (10.x.x.A)
2. Windows Server 2003 running another DC, Exchange Server 2003 and AD
Integrated DNS (Replication from the first DC). This has a public IP
(2xx.xx.xxx.B).
3. Windows Server 2003 running as a member server with a secondary DNS
and Web Server. It has a public IP (2xx.xx.xxx.C).
Here are our DNS configurations on these systems:
System #1:
- Preferred DNS server: 10.x.x.A
- Alternate DNS server: 2xx.xx.xxx.B
System #2:
- Preferred DNS server: 2xx.xx.xxx.B
- Alternate DNS server: 10.x.x.A
System #3:
- Preferred DNS server: 2xx.xx.xxx.C
- Alternate DNS server: 2xx.xx.xxx.B
So far, everything is working OK except that we cannot access our
corporate website (www.xxxx.com) from inside. We can access it from
outside with no problem.
Another problem, we are not getting inbound emails. Like I said at the
beginning of this post, we can send internally and externally.
We suspect that we are having a DNS issue on our system #3, but we have
been able to figure it out and need a help from anyone who may have
experience an issue like this. Your help would be very much appreciated.
