|Subject:||MsMpEng.exe problems with MSE, not OneCare|
|Date:||Wed, 14 Apr 2010|
I am not sure if Windows Defender is a part of the XP OS or if it is a part
of Microsoft Security Essentials and OneCare, but I read here that it is the
source of the MsMpEng.exe program. I've had the same 100% CPU usage problem
using both MSE (now) and OC (previously). I don't have any other antivirus
software and I don't have any other malware/adware stuff either.
What can I do to stop the computer from freezing up like it does? Can I
permanently set the MsMpEng.exe program to a lower priority?
