Hi

I have a netgear router wireless point, which is working fine with other
netgear kit locally.

Have just bought a new laptop (Acer Aspire 3614WLMi) with Win Xp Home fully
updated. (Atheros AR5005G Wireless Card)

Using ethernet cables, network works fine.

Wirelessly although the network we are using is identified in the 'Wireless
connection wizard', it is unable to connect to it.

Have looked on the main computer to see that in Netgear settings, Access
control is given to existing wireless stations, but the new laptop has not
been identified as an 'available' wireless station to add.

There is an option to add manually, but a MAC address is required, How would
I obtain this from the laptop - nothing seems to be in Windows help.

I did have a look in device manager under advanced to see Network address is
'Not Present'.  Do I cook one up, if so what is the format?

Many thanks

Richard
