I've got a few scenarios that I need advice on. I'm a little confused on when
and where to use the combination of User Profiles, Folder Redirection and
Home folders. I will describe two scenarios and see what anyone can provide
as a best practice way to go about it. There is only one server at this
location. Don't have need of home folder for existing software.
1.) Desktop users: All users need the ability to roam in case of pc hardware
failure but for the most part will use the same PC. Need all data/settings
backed up on server but would like copy on the pc in case the server is
2.) Laptop users: Would like ability to roam to free desktop if laptop is
down. Most laptop users are rarely in the office but would like to back up
what we can when they do sign in. Will also need to use offline files
obviously but want to minimize user input and make as transparent as possible.
