Is your server now a member server in the domain that it was once a DC for,
or is it a stand alone server (workgroup, as it was the last DC in the
domain)?  If the former, you need to troubleshoot this.  I'm guessing you
were pointing to self for DNS, which means you're now pointing at a caching
only DNS server as you can no longer load the zones from AD.  So, point the
client DNS settings at another [internal] DNS server.
