I have demoted our DC to a member server and then renamed it. This
server has DFS Target and i have deleted the Target from DFS manager,
although it was still showing the previous host name!
the problem is i cant delete the actual folder (share) from this
server which has GB worth of software, the error message "the share
must be removed from the Distributed File System before it can be
i think its still trying to find the old hostname, how can i delete
this so i can create a new target on this server?
already tried this--
dfsutil /unmapftroot /root:domain\share /server:data /share:share
running this command gives me the error below, any suggestions please
whats causing this?
System error 2 has occurred.
The system cannot find the file specified.
