Here's an interesting question ... one I don't have the answer to ...

Two proc's

Proc 1: Xeon 2.8 GHz with 4 MB of cache
Proc 2: Xeon 3.0 GHz with 1 MB of cache

Which one is faster in a W2K3 environment?

I'd have said that the one with the highest frequency would be the faster,
but others here in the office argue that the cache will play a big part in
overall perceived speed of the server and thus proc 1 would give proc 2 a
run for it's money.

I don't know enough (if anything really) about proc architecture to argue
my case.

Has anyone an insight in to this?

If not do you know a forum that would know. (I can't find an Intel forum!)
