After upgrading to Windows server 2003 (standard edition) from Windows
server 2000, the W32Time service will not start. I followed the Microsoft
article 892501 but the problem did not resolve.
After changing the registry, the general tab and the Logon tab of the
W32Time service displays:
%SystemRoot%\system32\svchost.exe -k LocalService
Error when tried to start the W32Time service:
I edited the GPO and I am sure the Service and the Local Service have the
'Change system time' right.
I also checked the GPO 'Resultant' to be sure that the Service and the Local
Service have the security permission to the Net Logon and the Windows Time
object in the GPO. Yet, I can't resolve the problem with the LocalService
Account. So I switch the logon account to the local administrator which has
full right to everythink in the local host.
After changing to:
%SystemRoot%\system32\svchost.exe -k localhostname\SAdmin
I got this error when tried to start the service:
