Hello, if we have a Workgroup 2003 Server that we want to join to our 2003
domain, what is the best way to do this, given the info below:
The Workgroup server has always been logged in as Administrator, but when it
joins to the domain, obviously you wouldn't use the domain Administrator
account.
I would imagine you'd create a new user account in the OU where this server
computer would be placed. Seems obvious, but wondering if there are any
gotchas or best practices.
If this Workgroup server hosted a database application, the application
would have to be "profile aware" or "service oriented" because the machine
will now be logging into a new profile?
Once joined to the domain, all local users on the Server should be deleted
and any existing shares and printers should have the relevant domain users'
permissions assigned to them?
Any difference if joining a Workgroup 2000 Server to the 2003 domain, as
opposed to a 2003 Server?
Thank you in advance. scubadrum[a t]fakemail.org
