I have a PC with a static IP and it's harddrive died. I went into AD
and deleted that computer name. But when I try to rename the new PC
with the old name it says duplicate name exists. I thought it may be
a DNS issue so I deleted the records on the DNS server (no change). I
can't even use the old IP because AD still thinks that old PC is using
that IP. Is it just that my AD hasn't replicated/refreshed? Or am I
missing something? If it is just the AD not replicating, how do I
force the DC's to replicate? DC's should replicate every 4 hours on
their own correct?
