I note it is by design that the first time a scheduled Server 2008 WSB backup
is performed to direct attached USB, the WSB 'takes control' of the drive,
assigns a volume label and makes the USB invisible in Windows Explorer.
I went into Computer Mgmt - Disk Mgmt and assigned a drive letter and this
makes it visible again in Windows Explorer. By doing so, have I compromised
in any way the functionality of the ongoing scheduled backup and restoration
process? If so, do I need to delete and recreate the scheduled backups?
