I've got this happening on a server (not SBS) since I updated the firmware on
a Quantum LTO2 tape drive. The drive works sporatically but now it has
completely stopped. The drive is fine but the Removable Storage service is
reporting the above error. I've stopped the RSM, deleted the database in the
system32 directory a DOZEN times, and then restarted the service but it
hasn't solved the issue. Microsoft released a hotfix (KB841187) but when I
run it, it says a newer service pack has been installed and exits. My client
is not getting a good backup. Any ideas? I need to get this fixed ASAP!
